The editor has done an excellent job in bringing together such a comprehensive group of authors all of whom have a great deal of expertise in their own particular fields. All the chapters are well written and give a balanced critique of the subject in a clear and readable style. These two volumes provide a good basis for understanding the requirements of separation/purification in biotechnology and options available when designing a strategy.
