About the Author
Professor Richard A. Shagoury has more than 17 years of teaching experience in chemistry at higher education institutions throughout California and in Massachusetts. Courses taught include general, organic, introductory chemistry; chemistry for allied health professions; inorganic and organic qualitative analysis; drug education; physical science; introductory and intermediate algebra. He has assisted in curriculum development of chemistry programs at the private college and community college levels. Professor Shagoury received his M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry at Northeastern University, his M.S. in Organic Chemistry at Boston College, a B.S. in Chemistry at Suffolk University, an A.E. in Chemistry at Franklin Institute, and has taken graduate-level coursework at University of Pacific. Currently Professor Shagoury teaches in the Department of Chemistry at West Valley College in Saratoga, California.
