About the Author
W. Grant Hodsdon is an industrial designer and artist. He lives in Massachusetts. David D. Roberts received his Ph.D. in modern European history at the University of California-Berkeley and in 1988 became professor of history at the University of Georgia. He is a recipient of the Woodrow Wilson and Rockefeller Foundation fellowships. In addition to numerous articles and reviews, he has published such books as The Syndicalist Tradition andItalian Fascism, Benedetto Croce and the Uses of Historicism, and Nothing but History: Reconstruction and Extremity after Metaphysics. Roger Tory Peterson, one of the world"'s greatest naturalists, received every major award for ornithology, natural science, and conservation, as well as numerous honorary degrees, medals, and citations, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The Peterson Identification System has been called the greatest invention since binoculars, and the Peterson Field Guides® are credited with helping to set the stage for the environmental movement.
