A practical guide to the usage of microcomputer database management systems in solving a wide variety of geological problems in which the popular database software programs PC-File and dBASE IV are used. The first section of the book deals with an introduction to two different database management systems and techniques of electronic data manipulation. Each chapter includes exercises enabling the user to readily absorb and apply the material. The second half offers several different applications of database management to geological problems. Management of Geological Databases will enable geologists to appreciate the general structure of database management programs and how they can be applied to individual problems.
