About the Author
Robert Gerver and Richard Sgroi received doctorates in the Mathematics Education Ph.D. program at New York University. In addition, they have taught mathematics and math education at Long Island University, Adelphi University, Dowling College, State University of New York, and an institute for gifted and talented students on Long Island. They have spoken at numerous national and regional conferences and have published articles in mathematics journals. Richard Sgroi is a high school mathematics teacher and secondary mathematics supervisor in Bedford, New York. He has taught elementary school through graduate level mathematics courses. He has authored high school mathematics textbooks and a college-level mathematics education textbook. Rich has written many journal articles and has been a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences.
